50W GU10 Halogen vs 7W GU10 LED

IMG_6296 What would my kitchen look like if I swapped out my 50W Halogen GU10 light bulbs and replaced them with TCP 7W LED equivalent replacements? The yellow light produced from Halogen lights create a relaxed mood. So, if you're planning on recreating the same mood using LED lights, we recommend that you use an LED with a colour temperature of 3000K, also known as "Warm White" in LED because the light colour temperature of a standard halogen GU10 is between 2800K - 3000K if you want to retain the colour.

Before

FACTO 50W Halogen GU10

This is what I have now (below) - 50W halogen light bulbs. I'll be replacing all 6 in the fixture in the main photo above. IMG_6288-2

After

TCP 7W LED GU10

I picked up a box of our 35 Watt Equivalent TCP 7W LED GU10 2700K Flood (40°) light bulbs. [product id=98] IMG_6286

Let's Compare!

The photo on the left uses halogen lamps and the photo on the right uses LED lights. There is a slight visible difference in the colour temperature. One thing that I noticed that I can't see in the photo is the LED lights appeared brighter which is likely due to the clarity of light LED lights produce. In this test, we picked 2700K Soft White bulbs, but if we were to repeat the test, I would have picked up the 3000K box because that would give us the correct halogen to LED colour replacement. 50w-halogen-vs-7w-led-mr16-gu10-light-bulbs (Click the image to view the full size 1400px wide)
